I’m so excited friends.  In Sunday’s edition of Reflejos, I was able to write about my writing in my column.  I’m excited to see how it comes out and looks in print.  I’ve got the link at the bottom of this post (Should be updated after noon Sunday).  Also, I have finally been released from training with the Police/Fire Department, so now I am an on-call part time dispatcher.  I’m told they may have a full time opening soon and I’m praying that I get it so I can just work one job and have more time to focus on my writing.

This edition of Weekend Writing Warriors (a fabulous website, where we share eight sentence snippets with our friends each Sunday) contains a scene from Liliana book 3, which thanks to fellow weekend warrior Lauren Shiro, I’m thinking of naming “No Turning Back.”  I’m still working on finishing up this one, but I am so close I can taste it.  Anyhow, this week we are skipping ahead to where Liliana has had enough of Venezuela and returns to her family who are currently in Chicago, the place where Liliana lost her mother.  I’m hoping you enjoy it and next week’s WWW is going to be an even more emotional share, I just can’t wait.

I could see Antonio standing nervously behind a glass wall, as I walked the ramp of the final steps leading to the airport. His expression showed that he did not know what to expect when I came out to see him. I took a deep breath and cautiously walked around the corner of the ramp to meet him. He looked up, as if not knowing what to say. I wanted to remain angry, but couldn’t, breaking into a smile as our eyes met. Immediately his troubled gaze disappeared, his lips parting into wide grin. I raced through the crowd to throw myself into his arms.

He grasped me tightly and I could feel each of his fingers as he caressed my back, savoring every moment of his warm embrace and burying my face deep into his chest, wanting more than anything to be lost in this feeling forever.

And that’s it.  I hope you enjoyed it.  Visit my Weekend Writing Warrior friends here.

I really liked the way you described Antonio’s nervousness. So hoping this will work out for her and she can remain happy.

  3. Her love for him is like a fatal attraction. If you’re redeeming him in the third book, girl, you’ve really got your hands full! 🙂 Good 8! 🙂

First off, I am flattered that you considered my idea. 🙂 Thank you!!!

I love this snippet. The uncertainty on both ends that leads to a happy reunion. You absolutely feel as though you are right there in the airport, experiencing that same nervousness and excitement.

I can’t wait to see what else you’ve got in store for us! 🙂

What a reunion! I hope it lasts, though I suspect whatever she was angry about will resurface later.

That’s a lovely reunion, but I sense that it may not last.
